Erlaufsee: Erlaufsee is a stunning mountain lake. Surrounded by lush greenery and towering mountains, it offers a peaceful ambiance and breathtaking views. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, swimming, boat riding, fishing, or taking leisure walks around the lake. On the weekends the museum tramway runs from St. Sebastian to Erlaufsee. In faithfully restored wagons and locomotives (including the oldest steam tramway locomotive in the world, built in 1884) you are transported back to the time of the turn of the century – exact opening days and travel times at: www.museumstramway.at.

Hubertussee: Hubertussee is a small lake located near Mariazell. It is situated in the Hubertussee Nature Park, providing a tranquil setting amidst nature. Visitors can relax by the lake, go for a walk along its shores, or indulge in fishing.

Grüner See (Green Lake): Located in Tragöß, approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Mariazell, Grüner See is a fascinating natural phenomenon. During spring and early summer, the snowmelt from surrounding mountains fills the basin, submerging the surrounding meadows and creating a stunning emerald- green lake. It attracts divers who come to explore its vibrant underwater scenery.

Leopoldsteinersee: Situated about 30 kilometers southwest of Mariazell, Leopoldsteinersee is a scenic mountain lake known for its crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by forested hills and rocky cliffs, it offers a picturesque setting. Visitors can engage in activities such as swimming, boating, or simply enjoying the serene atmosphere.

Lunzer See: Lunzer See is a beautiful lake located in Lunz am See, which is approximately 45 kilometers southwest of Mariazell. Lunzer See is known for its breathtaking natural beauty. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and majestic mountains, creating a stunning backdrop.
