ARRIVAL BY CAR

Coming from Salzburg: Take the A1 Westautobahn to the Ybbs exit, then the B25 to Scheibbs, from there two options: Either B28 via Wastl am Wald to B20, then via Annaberg and Josefsberg or B25 further to Grubberg and then B71 via the newly expanded Zellerrain to Gußwerk.

Coming from Vienna: Take the A1 Westautobahn to the St. Pölten Süd exit, then the B20 (Mariazeller Bundesstraße) 76 km south, either via Annaberg and Josefsberg or in Freiland turn left from the B20 onto the B21 and continue via Hohenberg and St. Aegyd through the Halltal Gußwerk (sufficiently signposted).

Alternative: Südautobahn A2 and S6 Semmering expressway to Mürzzuschlag, then via Neuberg and Mürzsteg on the B21 to Gußwerk.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN

Take the ÖBB or the Westbahn to St. Pölten. There change to the Mariazellerbahn. Recommended is an additional ticket for the journey to Mariazell in the panorama wagon. Guests have 2 possibilities to get from Mariazell to Gußwerk. The cheapest is by bus, takes 12 minutes and costs €2. The fastest is by cab and takes 6 minutes. However, if the arrival time of the Mariazell train is announced in time, we are also happy to pick up our guests personally from the station.

You can reach Mariazell easily from Vienna airport in a little bit more than three hours, if you choose the right train combination. Check the link below to look for the most convenient one for you. The name of the train taking you through the final stretch of your journey is the Himmelstreppe. Starting in St. Pölten, it will take you through the astonishing mountain views of the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park up to the Mariazell region. We will be delighted to pick you up at the train station if you let us know in advance.
